The Russian foreign Ministry sent a protest note to the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Bulgaria in connection with the desecration by vandals of a monument to Soviet soldiers “Alyosha”. This statement was made by the official representative of the Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova. About it reports TASS.
Zakharova said that the Russian side expresses its serious concern at the cynicism of the actions of the vandals painted the monument with Nazi symbols.
The attack occurred on 22 February when the country celebrates the day of thanking the individuals who resisted the Nazis in Bulgaria.
Monument “Alyosha” was established in Plovdiv on a hill Bunardzhik in 1957. In 1996, the complex was given the status of a monument of the Second world war, which does not allow the authorities to demolish the monument.
