MOSCOW, March 4. /TASS/. Five years ago Vladimir Putin, the third time was elected President of Russia. The past five years was not his first state of the wheel, but the scale of the processes in the country and the global turmoil around her, this time period was unique in chetvertichnogo post-Soviet period, became existential, life-changing challenge for Russia. Its leader, this took the challenge and made a choice based not on market situation and strategic interests of the state. These interests are measured by many five-year plans ahead.
You can, in all likelihood, choose the path “to protoptannoj and easier”, following in the footsteps of unipolar globalization. But it was important for Putin not to lose the identity of Russia, and in a strange rut this risk is very high.
Even a decade ago Putin’s speech at the Munich conference marked a direct, honest, candid, sometimes hard-hitting and tough style in world Affairs. This style Putin remains faithful all these years, and this style is definitely having a growing impact on the international environment.

Putin’s press Secretary Dmitry Peskov in an interview with TASS he described those years: “It was an unprecedented five years in the recent history of our country.
