Incredibly beautiful Qiandao lake or thousand-island Lake is an artificial reservoir with an area of 573 square kilometers, which appeared in 1959 after the construction of the hydroelectric plant.

The name of the lake was by chance — there are 1078 large Islands and several thousand small ones. Almost all of them are densely covered with forests.

Along with the area around the lake, the Islands represent the largest forest Park of China. Here is home to 90 species of birds and about 60 species of wild animals.

Lake Qiandaohu in Chinese Zhejiang province, 150 kilometers from Hangzhou city.

This place is one of the main attractions of the province. Almost every island on the lake you can visit, but the most popular among tourists are bird Island, snake island, monkey Island and Lock island with the lock Museum.

In addition, thousands of travelers come here to explore the underwater world in 2002 at the bottom of Qiandao lake were found two ancient cities, whose age is estimated at 1,800 years.
