Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said that universities can be transferred to the Ministry of higher education and science, if their founders do not care about their work. The appropriate point of view, the Prime Minister announced at a meeting with rectors.
The main criterion is the attitude of the founder, that’s right. No matter how the founder looks like, it may be a state Agency, the authorities or private founders. According to Mr. Medvedev, Ministers “often advocate” for the institutes, “and when it comes to funding, they shrug and say that we in the universities is and we need others to do.” What about the Ministers and the universities in question, the Prime Minister said.
Previously, “Kommersant” it became known that the 50 largest Russian universities appealed to President Vladimir Putin with a proposal to abolish the current system of state accreditation of universities as obsolete.
