Doctors told how pensioners can avoid dementia

MOSCOW, 28 Dec — RIA Novosti. Sports and light exercise significantly improves memory not only adults and teenagers but also the elderly and individuals suffering from early forms of Alzheimer’s disease and other neurodegenerative diseases, doctors say in an article published in the American Journal of Neurology.

“If you start to forget simple things and have problems in solving of vital problems, contact your doctor — it is possible that memory impairment is associated not just with the aging process, but with something more serious. Charge, in turn, can significantly slow down how quickly senile forgetfulness will turn into a full dementia,” said Ronald Petersen (Ronald Petersen) from the Mayo clinic in Rochester (USA).

In recent years, several groups of researchers have found that intensive sport activities and charging markedly improve brain function.

For example, in 2008, Australian researchers found that 50-minute walking distance significantly improved memory and concentration in older people, and in 2015 their Italian colleagues have shown that exercise helps nerve cells to form new connections with other neurons when injury or the development of new skills.

Booleanboolean Alzheimer’s

Most of these experiences, as noted by Petersen, was carried out on two categories of people who memory loss threatens less — for students and Teens and healthy adults, not suffering from early Alzheimer’s, dementia and other problems with brain function.

Petersen and his colleagues tried to correct this deficiency by analyzing and combining the results of those projects in which the authors observed the influence of the charging and walking on the health of older people and speakers of early forms of Alzheimer’s disease.
