The government of Kalmykia Republic has demanded from TNT an apology for an episode of the series

An episode from the TV series “the Street” on the channel TNT, in which the characters discussed the Buddhist statue, “defile the feelings of believers”, said the permanent mission of the Republic of Kalmykia. In this regard, Elista asked the leadership of the TV channel to apologize.

Deputy permanent representative of Kalmykia at the President of Russia Baatr Lidzhiev sent to the General Director of TV channel TNT Vyacheslav Dosmukhamedov a letter in which he demanded that the channel apologize for one of the episodes of the TV series “the Street”. It is, in the opinion of Elista, insulted the feelings of believers, writes with reference to the corresponding message of the Republican information Agency “RIA Dagestan”.

“The permanent mission of the Republic of Kalmykia receives numerous requests from residents of the Republic,” — said in a letter to Lidzhiev.

According to him, they were all connected with “one of the episodes of TNT “Street”, where the actors in the dialogue use the Buddhist statue, which is attached to a statuette of a naked woman”.

“Permitted this inappropriate comparison, the rolling margin and desecrating the Shrine,” added the permanent mission, stressing that, in the opinion of Elista, “this scene defile the feelings of believers”.

In this regard, Lidzhiev “asked” the management of TNT “to apologize to all the faithful” and “to remove this episode from the TV series”. “Otherwise, we reserve the right to apply to the judicial and law enforcement bodies”, — said in the Kalmyk representation.
