In Kiev on December 15 on the initiative of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople was the “unification Council”, which was attended mostly by representatives of the non-canonical Church structures.
Arrived only two bishops of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, UOC subsequently banned them from serving. The outcome of the event in Kiev was the election of the head of the new “Autocephalous churches” Epiphany Dumenko.
ROC called the canonical meaning of “Assembly” in Kiev is negligible, and the possibility of recognition of Epiphanius is hardly feasible task. The authorities of Ukraine expect in early January to obtain from Constantinople “Tomos” of the autocephaly of the” newly formed structure.
