MOSCOW, 9 Dec — RIA Novosti. Petro Poroshenko issued a decree on the payment of scholarships to the detained in Russia Ukrainian. About it reported in a press-service of the Ministry of occupied territories and displaced people in Ukraine.

As specified in the document, the scholarship named after Levko Lukyanenko is assigned to Ukrainian citizens detained by the Russian authorities “in connection with social or political activities of these individuals and are exempt from the number of such persons”. The monthly benefit is three the minimum subsistence level (almost $ 200).

Levko Lukyanenko is a Ukrainian dissident and human rights activist, political activist. Opposed the presence of Russian language in Ukraine and Russian appointment to the highest public office. In 2005 he was awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine. Died in July of 2018.
