Putin appointed Valery Limarenko, acting Governor of the Sakhalin region
MOSCOW, December 7. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin appointed President of the group of companies “ASE” (ASE) Valery Limarenko, acting Governor of the Sakhalin region. This was reported by press Secretary of the head of state, Dmitry Peskov.

The position of head of the region has been vacant since then, as in late September, Putin appointed Oleg Kozhemyako, head of Sakhalin in 2015, acting head of Primorsky Krai.

58-year-old Limarenko, doctor of economic Sciences, works as the President of joint stock company engineering company “ASE”, management company of Atomstroyexport, “AEP”, “Atomproekt”. He began his career in the all-Union scientific research Institute of experimental physics in Arzamas-16 (Sarov, Nizhny Novgorod region). There he was elected to the city Council of people’s deputies. In 1996-2001 — member of city Council of Sarov, the first Deputy Chairman of the city Duma in Economics and Finance.
From 2001 to 2003 — Minister of construction and housing and communal services of the Nizhny Novgorod region. In 2003-2005 I worked in the office of the Plenipotentiary representative of RF President in Volga Federal district, chief Federal inspector in Nizhny Novgorod region. From August 2005 to may 2007 in the rank of Vice-Governor of Nizhny Novgorod region was in charge of construction, energy, housing, utilities and information technology.
