Malaysian architect and artist Hong Yi for a long time lives and works in Shanghai. There’s a girl working under the alias Red (“Red” — so with Mandarin translation of its name), had become famous and become one of the most popular and celebrated artists in the country. She’s friends with celebrities, has a popular blog and actively participates in charity.

Hong Yi, who began his career as an architect, became famous not because of the design of buildings, but because of the unusual and amazing paintings, which she creates with totally unexpected materials. Hong Yi makes portraits of famous personalities using colored socks, candles, flowers, coffee, plastic plates, tennis balls, books, tea bags and much more.

One of a series of her works made using food: Hong creates a wide variety of products cute painting directly on the plate. It looks very funny and creative.
