In the American tropics, inhabited by a butterfly, owl butterfly. The name translated from Latin means “dark”.
The wings of this animal are really dark brown or brown with purple or blue tint. But that’s boring Kaligo does not name anybody.
In the evolution of the pattern on the butterfly’s wings became very difficult. In the center of the lower wing appeared a large circle with a border, resembling the eyes of owls.
These “eyes” that scare away large predators, or divert their attention from the vital parts of the body.
Kaligo can be seen in the forests from Mexico to Peru. During the day they prefer to hide in dark corners.
Flight of the butterflies is very rapid, similar to jump and they eat juice of overripe fruit. The main treat for the Kaliga — bananas.
