Comic Con Africa was launched in Johannesburg, the largest city in South Africa.

The festival attracts thousands of people not only from South Africa but also in other countries — Nigeria, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana. Tickets for the three-day event was sold out several weeks in advance.

Comic Con is a massive multi-genre Convention held annually in many countries around the world. It brings together fans of comics, movies, anime, video games, TV series, literature, horror, and other areas of pop culture. The first Comic Con held in San Diego in 1970. Comic Con Russia this year will be held in early October.
