The Kremlin has called the demands for Russia to give Crimea illogical

MOSCOW, July 13 — RIA Novosti. Demands for Russia to give Crimea as illogical and futile, said the press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov in interview to TV channel RT.

Earlier, U.S. President Donald trump called the reunification of the Peninsula with Russia, “catastrophe Obama.” The American leader said that would not allow the formation of the Russian Crimea, if he were led by the United States in 2014.

Peskov said that the attempts to force Russia to give Crimea — “a road to nowhere.”

Talking is only one way, in the way that the repetition of a phrase that, say, while Russia will not give the Crimea, will not be so-and-so and so-and-so, repeat this phrase like a mantra, it is not logical, it is futile. That means nothing ever will be.Dmitry Pescovitz Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation

Thus a press-the Secretary of the Russian leader did not rule out that trump can change his position on the Crimea. He added, however, that Moscow rose-colored glasses are not worn.

Crimea became Russian after the carried-out on the Peninsula the referendum in 2014 in which more than 90 percent of the population voted for reunification.

The Russian authorities have repeatedly stated that the residents of Crimea voted for joining Russia in a democratic way and in full compliance with international law and the UN Charter. As stated by the President Vladimir Putin, the question of Crimea is closed completely.
