Moscow and Kiev have exchanged statements after the murder Babchenko

The Russian foreign Ministry described the bloody crime routine in Ukraine.

The level of physical violence and murder against media workers in Ukraine “is growing steadily”, and investigation of these crimes do not lead to punishment of those responsible, said foreign Ministry of Russia after the murder in Kyiv of a Russian journalist Arkady Babchenko. The last time Babchenko lived in Ukraine, reminded the Russian foreign Ministry.

“Bloody crimes with total impunity have become routine for the Kiev regime. Demand from the Ukrainian authorities to make every effort to prompt investigation,” said Russian foreign Ministry.

The Ministry said it expects the attention to the investigation by independent international organizations. The Ministry has expressed condolences to the families of the murdered journalist.

The attempt on the Russian writer and journalist Arkady Babchenko was committed on the threshold of his apartment in Kiev on may 29. According to preliminary information, he received several shots in the back. Spouse Babchenko, published well noise, called an ambulance, but on the way to the hospital Babchenko died.

“In the house ran out of bread. Arkady went to the store. The killer was waiting in the stairwell in the entryway. When Arkady opened the door of the apartment, the killer I mean, in the back, took a few shots in the back of Arkady Babchenko,” wrote the Ukrainian MP, member of the Board of the Ministry of internal Affairs of Ukraine Anton Gerashchenko in Facebook.

Arkady Babchenko — the famous military journalist. He worked as a military correspondent of “Moskovsky Komsomolets”, correspondent of the program “the Forgotten regiment” NTV-TVs, collaborated with other TV channels as well as Newspapers and magazines. In particular, he worked in “Novaya Gazeta” together with the victim in 2006 of Anna Politkovskaya.

In 2014, Babchenko has described the process for the change of power in Ukraine in 2015 — filed a complaint in Supreme court against the decree on the classification of data on Russian military losses in peacetime. In December 2016, he published a post in which he denied the right to pity the victims of the disaster Tu-154 of the Ministry of defense, crashed upon departure in Syria. Shortly after, the journalist left Russia in connection with the received threats to his address and to his family. Lived in the Czech Republic and Israel, in August of 2017 moved to Ukraine. Collaborated with the ATR channel, led his own project “Journalism without intermediaries”.

Kiev police called the first probable version of the murder Babchenko his professional activity and opened a criminal case under article “murder”. Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman suggested to Facebook that the Russian “totalitarian machine” did not forgive the journalist of “honesty and integrity”. He called for the punishment of murderers and called Babchenko a true friend of Ukraine. The Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin has not ruled out Russian involvement in the crime.

Case under article about the murder stirred up and the Investigative Committee of Russia (TFR). The office drew attention to the fact that this is not the first murder of Russians in Kiev in recent years: in 2016, in a car bomb explosion killed journalist Pavel Sheremet, in 2017 shot the former Deputy of the state Duma Denis Boronenkov.
