Macron noted the concerns of the French elite business Serebrennikov

STRELNA, may 24. /TASS/. The President of France Emmanuel macron expressed concern over the French intellectual elite of the Russian theatre and film Director Kirill Serebrennikov. At a joint press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin after talks in Strelna macron reported that the two leaders discussed at the meeting the issues of human rights.
“We talked about human rights during our negotiations, was mentioned many issues, including the case of Mr. Sentsov, Serebrennikov, who has also led many to mobilize,” said macron. He noted that “these are two very sensitive issue for France, because the French intellectual elite is very concerned about this”.
“I hope we can dialogue on this issue,” said macron.
Kirill Serebrennikov, whose film “Summer” participated in the main competition at the Cannes film festival this year, is currently under house arrest on charges of embezzlement of budget funds. Previously, the investigation petitioned for the extension of his current measure of restraint until July 19.
