Trump Pompeo instructed to prepare a plan of sanctions against Russia for alleged violations of the INF Treaty

WASHINGTON, may 17. /TASS/. The US President Donald trump has instructed Secretary of state Michael Pompeo to prepare a plan for additional sanctions against Russia because of alleged violations of the provisions of the Treaty on the elimination of intermediate and shorter-range missiles (INF Treaty, 1987). This was announced on Wednesday, the White house, extending the corresponding decree of the head of administration of the USA.
“In accordance with the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and laws of the United States, I am instructing the Secretary of state, in coordination with the Finance Minister, defense Minister, trade Minister and Director of national intelligence to comply with the requirements set forth in section 1244 (para) law on the military budget of the United States in the 2018 financial year”, — stated in the order.
Paragraph “C” of this section requires the President to submit to Congress “a report with plan for the implementation [of sanctions] measures against individuals responsible for the failure of the Russian Federation of the provisions of the INF Treaty”, including “political figures of the government of the Russian Federation”.
As measures proposed, in particular, “to block or ban all transactions” related to the assets and property of these persons, if they are on U.S. soil, “not to allow them entry into the United States, not to issue them a visa or to revoke an existing permit”. “The President can propose any other sanctions it deems appropriate,” — stated in section 1244.
