Scientists from Russia have created a DNA test that allows you to find the meat in the Shawarma
MOSCOW, may 8 — RIA Novosti. Molecular biologists from the Institute of theoretical and experimental Biophysics in Pushchino has developed a simple and accurate method for identification of meats that will allow you to distinguish beef from horse meat, and the meat from the chicken, according to an article published in the journal Meat Science.
“The aim of our study was to develop a simple and cost-effective test — version multiprimer PCR for the simultaneous determination, the sample 10 varieties of meat. Designed test is easy, fast and cheap. We have done all test its specificity, sensitivity and reproducibility,” says Olga Prusakova, one of the creators of the test, whose words are press service, ITEB RAS.
Every time a person buys meat at the market or meat dish in a restaurant or a diner, he inevitably thinks about whether or not the contents of his purchase of what is written on its packaging, and what dangers it might contain. Such fears often push people away from buying or lead to conflicts.
