The former head of “RUSNANO” will be released from house arrest

Former head of “RUSNANO” Leonid Melamed, accused of embezzling 220 million rubles, will be released from house arrest.

This was reported by the correspondent of TASS from the hall of the Moscow city court on Wednesday considered the appeal by the prosecution on return to the office of the criminal case against him.

As follows from the decision of the court, the court announced a decision on the measure of restraint in respect of Melamed and the other defendant — the former Finance Director “Rosnano” Svyatoslav Ponurov.

The Prosecutor stated that the measure of restraint involved in the case expires on Wednesday. “Based on the decree, the court did not extend the restraint to the Melamed and Ponurova. This suggests that they will be released from house arrest soon,” said the Prosecutor.

8 Dec 2017 Cheryomushki district court on its own initiative, returned to the public Prosecutor a case of a Melamed. The Prosecutor opposed the decision, stating that the indictment drawn up in accordance with the law and specified and to irregularities in its drafting was not allowed.
