Named the main Russian word 2017
MOSCOW, 25 Dec — RIA Novosti. The expert Council at the Center for creative development of Russian language identified the top 10 words of 2017. The list can be found on the website of “the Year of literature 2017”.
First the experts put the word “renovation”. In second place was “bitcoin”, the “hype”.
Also in the top 10 were the words “toxic”, “battle”, “dope”, “cryptocurrency”, “fake”, “bezviz” and “harassment” (“harassment”).
In addition, experts have identified protologism (authorial neologisms. — Approx. ed.) year. In this list first and second split word “domovent” and “GOP politics”, third place went to protologism “znamenityj”.
The expert Council includes well-known writers, linguists, philologists, journalists, culture experts and philosophers.
