Putin dismissed the Governor of the Voronezh region

MOSCOW, 25 Dec — RIA Novosti. Vladimir Putin signed Executive order on early termination of powers of the Governor of the Voronezh region Alexey Gordeev, the press service of the Kremlin.

Gordeev himself asked for his release from office.

The head of state appointed him as his envoy to the Central Federal district. Earlier this post was occupied by Alexander Beglov, who became Plenipotentiary representative of the President in Severo-the Western Federal district.

The post of acting Governor of the Voronezh region took the mayor of Voronezh Alexander Gusev.

Alexey Gordeyev headed the region in March 2009. Prior to that, he was Minister of agriculture. Gordeev — doctor of Economics and academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

At the end of September — early October their posts left the leaders of the eleven subjects. In retirement, in particular, left the head of Dagestan Ramazan Abdulatipov, the Governor of Primorye Vladimir Miklushevsky and the head of the Krasnoyarsk region Victor Tolokonsky.
