The society of young people of Anatolia (AGD) conducts in front of the US Consulate General in Istanbul to protest in connection with the statement of the President of the United States Donald trump on the recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, according to the newspaper Hurriyet.
On Wednesday, trump announced the recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and instructed the state Department to begin preparing to transfer the American Embassy from tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Istanbul branch of the AGD Ali Ugur Bulut told RIA Novosti that such actions are planned across the country to “United front to oppose this injustice, showing a sense of solidarity with the entire Muslim community”.
It is noted that the action was attended by several hundred people. Protesters chant anti-American and anti-Israeli slogans and expressed support for Palestine. The police do not prevent it.
