MOSCOW, April 22. /TASS/. Repair and modernization of the aircraft carrier “Admiral Kuznetsov” will begin in September at the plant near Murmansk, the cost of works will amount to almost 40 billion rubles. This was reported by TASS source in the military-industrial complex.
“In September, “the star” will sign with the Navy contract for the second phase of the renovation with the modernization of “Admiral Kuznetsov”. The transaction price has been agreed — almost 40 billion rubles. Work will begin in the same month at the 35th ship repair plant in Roslyakovo near Murmansk,” — said the Agency interlocutor.
The modernization of the aircraft carrier, according to a source, is scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of 2020. “That is the job duration will be three years and another two or three months,” he said.
According to the source, the ship will repair the entire Electromechanical equipment, including main propulsion system — it will replace a few worn out boilers. Will be modernized runway complex.
