Kuznetsova called upon to treat children with HIV-dissidents

Presidential Commissioner for children’s rights Anna Kuznetsova said that patients with HIV-infection of children of citizens who deny the existence of this disease must be treated, reports TASS.

“A child should be treated. He has the right to be treated. It is necessary to act in the best interests of the child, and any sane person will tell about it,” said Kuznetsova.

At the same time, the Ombudsman acted against the compulsory removal of children with HIV, parents with HIV-dissidents. Kuznetsov stressed that each situation has to be solved manually.

In October 2015, the Minister of health Veronika Skvortsova warned that the HIV epidemic in Russia gets out of control by 2020, if the coverage of treatment of people with the disease will not be increased. In January 2016 the number of HIV-infected people in Russia exceeded one million people.

HIV denialists deny that the human immunodeficiency virus is an infectious agent of HIV infection. Some of the members of the movement deny the existence and allocation of HIV and AIDS recognize the different factors of noninfectious nature.
