The case of the illegal harvest of polar bears in Chukotka opened
Moscow. April 20. INTERFAX.RU — Police in Chukotka is investigating a criminal case on the fact of illegal extraction of six polar bears.
According to the Prosecutor of Chukotka Autonomous district, skins and a skull of animals illegally kept in a container geographically-neighboring communities of indigenous small peoples of the North “Chaplino”.
Given that the polar bear is related to valuable wild animals listed in the Red book of the Russian Federation, the County Prosecutor’s office the investigation of this criminal case was taken under special controlcomment of the Prosecutor of Chukotka Autonomous district
Investigated all the circumstances of the incident.
