Lavrov and Ayrault held a telephone conversation
PARIS, 19 Jul — RIA Novosti, Victoria Ivanova. Foreign Minister of France Jean-Marc Ayrault in a telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov expressed readiness to cooperate with Russia in combating terrorism, said in a communique of the French foreign Ministry released on Wednesday.
“He (foreign Minister of France Jean-Marc Ayrault — ed.) has stated its readiness to cooperate with Russia in combating terrorism and called for an early resumption of negotiations on the political transition (in Syria — ed.), in accordance with the Geneva communiqué and resolution 2254 of the UN security Council”, — the document says.
According to the communiqué, Ayrault stressed the importance of the work of the OPCW and the UN security Council to establish the circumstances and responsible for the chemical attack in the Syrian Khan Sheyhun.
