In the Kerch Strait resumed its search of crew of the sunken cargo ship

Moscow. April 20. INTERFAX.RU — Search and rescue operations at the crash site of the ship in the Kerch Strait was resumed on Thursday from 6 a.m., reported “Interfax” the press-service of the southern regional emergency center.

“In the morning a search and rescue operation resumed, there are six rescue vessels. 19 operational groups of 72 people and 20 pieces of equipment carry out monitoring of the coastal zone”, — said the Agency interlocutor.

He noted that for participation in operations in readiness is a diving group of seven people with experience of working at great depths. They are equipped with a mobile diving system with hyperbaric chamber, the small-sized remotely operated underwater vehicle “Falcon” and side-scan sonar.

Wednesday at 3:30 in the Black sea on the removal of 19 nautical miles from the Cape of Zhelezny Rog (Krasnodar region, Taman Peninsula), near the Kerch Strait, was wrecked cargo ship “Heroes of the Arsenal” (shipowner shipping Gunes, Turkey, class of shipping register of Ukraine, flag of Panama).

The ship with the grain followed from the port of Azov, Rostov region in Turkey. On Board were a crew of 12 people (nine citizens of Ukraine, two citizens of Russia, one citizen of Georgia).

The cause of the marine disaster was a storm: the ship was split in two and sank

On the first day of the search operation, rescuers recovered from the water three of the dead sailors. One crew member was saved.
