Mayor of Yekaterinburg Yevgeny Roizman has declared his intention to run for Governor of Sverdlovsk region. About this he wrote on his page in Facebook on Monday, April 17.
“Go to the governors of the Sverdlovsk region. Here I have not lost any one election,” he said.
Earlier on Monday, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on early termination of powers of the Governor of Sverdlovsk region Evgeny Kuyvasheva. A week before that, the President accepted the early resignation of the head of Mordovia Vladimir Volkov and appointed him acting head of the Republic until elections in September this year.
Roizman won the mayoral elections in Yekaterinburg in September 2013. He ran from the party of businessman Mikhail Prokhorov “Civic platform”. Before 2011 was another party of the businessman — “the Right thing”, which ceased to exist in March last year. Roizman is one of the founders of the public organization “City without drugs”.
