The Federation Council responded to the proposal on the accession of Russia to the Western coalition

The Western coalition should join Russia and her allies in the fight against terrorists in Syria. So, the first Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on defense and security Frants Klintsevich commented on the words of British foreign Secretary Boris Johnson that Moscow should join the coalition of the West, RIA Novosti reported.

“I don’t think joining the Western coalition, which only simulates the fight against “Islamic state”, is the right choice. As mentioned, however, quite another matter hero of Andrei Mironov in “Diamond hand”: no, it is better you to us”, — said the Senator.

On 16 April in the newspaper The Daily Telegraph published an article by Johnson in which he wrote that Moscow needs to be together with the Western coalition, which, in particular, will help to maintain good relations with the United States.

Russia has repeatedly urged Western partners to jointly fight against the “Islamic state” (banned in Russia). So, in mid-March, the head of the Federation Council Committee on international Affairs Konstantin Kosachev said that the Western coalition for several years and have not achieved significant success in the confrontation with terrorists.
