In St. Petersburg court of the ninth arrested the alleged recruiter of terrorists
Moscow. April 15. INTERFAX.RU — the Oktyabrsky district court has arrested the ninth suspect in the promotion of banned terrorist organizations, the press service of the St. Petersburg city court.
“Oktyabrsky district court of St. Petersburg today, 15.04.2017 year, chose a measure of restraint in form of detention in respect of Yigit Aitmatov, born in 1985, without registration, married, with a child suspected of committing a crime under part 1 of article 205.1 of the criminal code of the Russian Federation for the period until 04.06.2017 year”, — stated in the message.
Earlier it was reported that law enforcement officers arrested the ninth suspect in the case of recruitment to banned terrorist organizations.
At the moment there is no reason to believe that the detainees in this case involved in the terrorist attack at Petersburg 3 APR.
As reported, on April 5 in St. Petersburg was detained eight citizens of the republics of Central Asia who came to work in Russia.
According to investigators, the suspects from November 2015 recruiting immigrants from the Central Asian republics for committing terrorist crimes and the involvement of banned terrorist organizations “Dzhebhat EN-Nusra” and “Islamic state”. In addition, the partners sought to attract recruited to the activities of other illegal armed groups, including foreign countries.
At the place of residence of the suspects were searched, seized Islamist extremist literature. Criminal case is being investigated on the grounds of crime under part 1 of article 205.1 of the criminal code of Russian Federation (assistance of terrorist activity).
The investigation has not established communication with the detained perpetrators of terrorist acts in St. Petersburg metro.
As a result of the explosion of a homemade bomb in the subway in St. Petersburg on 3 April, killed 14 people, including the alleged suicide bomber, more than 50 were injured.
In addition, at the metro station “Ploshchad Rebellion” was not triggered an explosive device, explosive device was neutralized.
