The Federation Council is ready to consider the law on deprivation of citizenship of members of the IG*

MOSCOW, 12 APR — RIA Novosti. The Federation Council is ready to promptly consider the bill to abolish the granting of citizenship to persons who had joined the terrorist group “Islamic state”*, the senators have already proposed similar measures to combat terrorism, said RIA Novosti the head of the Federation Council Committee on defense and security Viktor Ozerov.

“We had a year ago talked about the need for such rules. To leave the Russian citizenship to those who received it, lived in Russia, and then carries out a terrorist attack in St. Petersburg — is nonsense,” said the Senator.

According to him, the Federation Council is ready to consider appropriate amendments to the law “On citizenship of the Russian Federation” when they go to the state Duma.

The Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on international Affairs Konstantin Kosachev also told RIA Novosti that in the event of receipt of bill in the Parliament, the Federation Council will be ready to consider it.

Day 3 of April on the stretch between the stations “Sennaya Ploschad” and “Tekhnologichesky Institut-2” St. Petersburg underground there was an explosion. Another explosion at the station “Ploshchad Rebellion”, was averted thanks to the timely detection of an improvised explosive device. The explosion killed 14 people, including a suspected suicide bomber of Akbarjon Jalilova. According to the latest data, in a serious condition, there are 4 victims, moderate — 4, satisfactory – 45. Also 29 people are being treated on an outpatient basis.
