The terrorists failed to sow fear among the residents of St. Petersburg, a city United in common misfortune, said Thursday the Governor of the Northern capital Georgy Poltavchenko at the evening of memory of victims of the terrorist attack in the subway.
“Three days ago, cowardly terrorists attacked our city. The Governor noted that only together we can confront the “global evil”. “Only together can we fight back this terrible evil, because we are citizens of Russia, which not in words, but in fact a few years to fight terrorism. We are children of the great city which never bowed his knee,” added the mayor.

A memorial evening is held near the station “Institute of Technology”, where on April 3 the attack occurred. In front of the entrance to the metro station “Institute of Technology” with the photos of the dead, candles, hung the leaves with the words “we Mourn. Saint-Petersburg. 03.04.2017”.
The buildings are hundreds of bouquets and wreaths, which bring citizens, tourists, representatives of organizations. Flowers at a spontaneous memorial to the victims of the attack lay Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko and the Governor of St. Petersburg.
The explosion in the St. Petersburg metro happened on April 3 in the train on the stretch between the stations “Institute of Technology” and “Sennaya Ploschad”. Russia’s investigative Committee has described the incident as a terrorist attack.
In the attack, 13 people were killed and the terrorist who detonated the explosive device. The explosion damaged more than 50 people.
