In Petersburg have arrested the seventh suspect in the recruitment of terrorists
MOSCOW, 5 APR — RIA Novosti. In St. Petersburg detained a seventh suspect in the recruitment of terrorists “dzhebhat an-Nusra” and “Islamic state” *, according to the website of the RF IC.
Earlier Wednesday, UK announced the arrest in the Northern capital of six citizens from the republics of Central Asia for promoting terrorist activities.
“Main investigation Department of IC Russia in St. Petersburg opened a criminal case on signs of the crime… “facilitating terrorist activity”. The fifth of April 2017 as a result of investigative actions and operational-search activities, investigators together with employees of regional managements of FSB and the Russian interior Ministry and special forces of Regardie detained 7 citizens of the republics of Central Asia who came to Russia to work”, — stated in the message.
According to investigators, the suspects from November 2015 till present time in St. Petersburg recruited mostly natives of the republics of Central Asia “to commit terrorist crimes” and involved them in the activities of “Nusra” and IG. In addition, the partners sought to attract recruited to the activities of other illegal armed groups, including foreign countries.
Conducted searches at the places of residence of suspects, during which removed Islamist extremist literature, objects and documents having importance for the investigation of the criminal case.
