“Jehovah’s witnesses” has addressed in the Supreme court of Russia requesting to recognize the organization of a victim of political repression, reports “Interfax”.
“We ask you to consider our counterclaim on the recognition of Russian religious organization “Jehovah’s Witnesses” a victim of political repression and to recognize the illegal political persecution and actions of the Ministry of justice against us,” — said the representative of “Jehovah’s Witnesses”.
After hearing the arguments of the parties, the Supreme court refused to accept the claim of “Jehovah’s Witnesses”.
The Ministry of justice on March 17 filed a lawsuit in the Supreme court about the ban in Russia “Jehovah’s Witnesses” by results of checks revealed violations of anti-extremist legislation.
A few days later the work of the management centre “witnesses of iegovy” in Russia was suspended. The parent organization made the list of extremist organizations of the Ministry of justice.
“Witnesses iegovy” — the international religious movement Protestant, with more than seven million members. The headquarters of the organization is in new York. Often adherents of this sect are accused of negligent attitude to life due to the failure to carry out medical operations and blood transfusions, as well as destroying families and the refusal to serve in the army. The organization’s leadership has repeatedly set dates for the end of the world.
