An American teenager has confessed to planning the assassination of the Pope
MOSCOW, 4 APR — RIA Novosti. A teenager in USA has admitted that he had planned to kill Pope Francis during his visit to the country in 2015, according to the U.S. Department of justice.
According to a communiqué of the Agency, 17-year-old Santos colon has developed a plan to assassinate Pope Francis in September 2015 during his visit to Philadelphia.
The teenager had intended to buy explosives to build pipe bombs and set them all over the city, and also attempted to hire a sniper to kill the Pope during the mass. However, he was a FBI undercover, and then the colon was detained.
Punishment is not appointed yet, however, under American law, Colon could face a prison term of up to 15 years and a fine of 250 thousand dollars
