The Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kirill
The Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kirill said that in the revolutionary events of 1917 in the first place was the fault of the intelligentsia, reports “Interfax”.
“Everything that happened in the twentieth century, the meat grinder that ground the entire intelligentsia, is not an organic consequence of the terrible crimes that intellectuals committed against the faith, against God, against his people, against his country?” — asked the head of the ROC.
The Patriarch expressed regret that there’s a “war historical arguments” in connection with the evaluation of the events of a century ago. “I guess interpretations will vary, but you must do everything that their diversity did not provoke a new civil conflict. Too much blood has been shed, too great a price was paid for that we could overcome in our current realities of the consequences of past troubles, to exclude the possibility of its influence on our lives,” — said the head of the Church.
In February, Patriarch Kirill called the revolution of 1917 the great crime, according to RIA Novosti. He argued that almost everyone who made a revolution, fell victim to the subsequent repression.
