Named the main danger of the marathon
American scientists believe that the main danger of this race is to damage to the kidneys. A study published in the American Journal of Kidney Diseases, and briefly about it reports Yale University.
Short-term kidney damage in people who can make a marathon, lose about two days.
To such conclusions scientists have come, having taken a urine test and the blood of several participants of the marathon held in the USA in 2015. The event was attended by about half a million people.
Samples of urine and blood revealed the typical markers of kidney damage. In 82% of the subjects were recorded acute renal failure of the first stage. The reasons for this experts call sustainable increase in body temperature, dehydration and reduced blood flow in the body.
Despite the fact that renal failure disappeared two days after the marathon, the question of its impact on the state of the body in the long run, especially in warm climates, remains open.
