Berlin Bode Museum stole a gold coin weighing 100 kg
Moscow. March 27. INTERFAX.RU — Stokilogrammovye gold coin with a nominal value of $1 million and weighing 100 kg was taken from the Bode Museum in Berlin, said on Monday the newspaper Die Welt, citing the police.
According to the newspaper, the coin’s diameter is 53 cm, thickness — 3 cm On the obverse of the coin features the profile of Queen Elizabeth ll.
The cost of gold which the coin is made, is around 3.7 million euros. This coin was on loan to the Bode Museum with the guidance of another Museum.
According to police, the robbers were several. The robbers broke into the Museum through a window with a ladder, which was later found nearby.
Art Bode Museum is part of the ensemble of the Museum island, located in Berlin. Its name was named after a figure of the Museum of German of Wilhelm von Bode.
