Almost 70 percent of Russians are ready to go to the presidential election, which is scheduled for March 2018. These are the results of poll of the all-Russia centre of studying of public opinion (VTSIOM), write “Vedomosti” on Friday, March 24.
According to the center, which results in the publication, 52.5 percent of respondents believe that they will certainly take part in the poll, 17.4 per cent chose the answer “likely will.” Closer to the election will be determined 16.3 percent of respondents.
6.9 percent of survey participants definitely would not vote, another 2.5 percent were undecided on the issue.
As the “Vedomosti”, in the survey, which was conducted from 22 to 28 February, was attended by 1.6 thousand people.
According to General Director VTsIOM Valery Fedorova, the year before the election, any estimates of the turnout are expert in nature. “On the basis of this survey we can only conclude: the turnout will clearly be less than 50 percent,” he said.
On 16 March, the Chairman of the Central election Commission of Russia, Ella Pamfilova said that the Agency due to the possible cancellation of absentee ballots is developing a system that will not vote at the place of registration.
In the beginning of the month in the state Duma was introduced a bill providing for the abolition of absentee ballots at the elections of the President of Russia in 2018.
Last September the election of deputies of the state Duma, the turnout was 47,88 percent.
