Militants “Islamic state” (banned in Russia for extremist group — approx. “Of the tape.ru”) stepped up its activities in the North Caucasus because of the success of the antiterrorist operation in Syria. This opinion was expressed by Deputy head of the Federation Council Committee on defense and security Frants Klintsevich in an interview with “Tape.ru” on Saturday, March 25.
“About two and a half thousand terrorists, immigrants from Russia, killed in Syria. Somewhere they still have, is the migration, including former Soviet republics. They first [went] there, where there is less control, and then from there to here, trying to prove themselves. (…) They are angry at us capital,” said the Senator, commenting on the attack of militants on a military unit in Chechnya.
According to him, terrorist activities tried to provoke panic. “It was a demonstration of power, an attempt to make people afraid. But they have never happened,” — said Klintsevich.
November 24, first Deputy Chairman of the Duma Committee on defense Alexander Sherin said that in the case of repeated provocations by extremists Asgardia will hold a “total cleansing” in the region.
On the night of 24 March, a group of armed terrorists tried to penetrate into the territory of the town military units in the Naur district of the Republic. The result of the ensuing fighting killed six asguardian, three wounded. Troops eliminated six militants. Later it became known that the responsibility for the attack has taken the group “Islamic state”.
