Moscow. March 22. INTERFAX.RU — British security services have identified Abu Izzadine, formerly known as Trevor Brooks, as a suspect in the attack on Wednesday in London, told the British newspaper the Independent.
Izzadin previously been known to authorities for his connection with terrorists. In addition, the suspect has already served time in prison on charges of raising funds for terrorists, inciting hatred and the justification of terror. However, at the same time, The Independent reports that the journalist of the American television network ABC have contacted the legal representative of Izzadine. The representative confirmed that Izzadeen “is still in jail and could not be the assailant” in London.
London police has not yet informed about the identity of the attacker
The suspect attacked police and passers-by on Westminster bridge in London and was shot on location. But he killed two people. The police decided to consider the incident a terrorist attack until set otherwise.
