NATO Secretary General stressed the importance of dialogue with Russia
WASHINGTON, Mar 23 — RIA Novosti, Dmitry Zlatarev. Contacts between Russia and NATO is particularly important during periods of increased tension, said Wednesday in Washington the Secretary General of the Alliance Jens Stoltenberg.
“During the growth of tension is even more important that we talked to each other and maintained open lines for military and political contacts,” he told Reuters on the sidelines of the meeting in Washington the meeting of representatives of the international coalition against terrorist group “Islamic state” (IG banned in Russia, USA and some other countries).
Stoltenberg noted that the head of the NATO military Committee Peter Paul recently held telephone talks with Russian chief of staff Valery Gerasimov.
