Named the world’s worst city to live
The capital of Iraq, Baghdad was recognized as the world’s worst city to live in according to the international consulting company Mercer. These data drew the attention of the newspaper The Telegraph.
Followed by Baghdad in the list of the 450 settlements is Bangui the capital of Central African Republic (CAR). Closes the three main city of Yemen — Sana’a.
Fourth place went to the capital of Haiti, Port-AU-Prince, the fifth — Khartoum in Sudan. In the top 10 in descending order were also included the city of n’djamena in the Republic of Chad, Damascus (Syria), Brazzaville (Republic of Congo), Kinshasa (Democratic Republic of the Congo) and Conakry in Guinea.
Mercer publishes a ranking of cities for quality of life in 19-th time. The settlements are evaluated according to 39 criteria, among them political stability, level of crime, restriction of personal freedom, censorship, education, transport, environment.
In 2016 the worst European city to live in according to the version of Mercer was Minsk. In the ranking of the current year the capital of Belarus retained this title.
