Unknown cut the painting by Gainsborough’s “Morning walk”
The incident occurred in London’s National gallery.
The man cut the painting brush of the English artist Thomas Gainsborough’s “Morning walk”, exhibited in London’s National gallery in Trafalgar square. The incident took place in the afternoon on Saturday, the malefactor was detained.

The man performed an act of vandalism in front of hundreds of visitors to the gallery, according to the English press. He managed to cut the canvas, painted by Gainsborough in 1785, in two places, before he was detained by the visitors and the keepers of the Museum.
“He (the assailant — Ed.) was taken to the police station in Central London and remain in custody”, — is spoken in the message of the Scotland Yard, released media.
