US intelligence agencies will investigate the information on the relationship of the President of Donald trump and alleged Russian intervention in the American elections. This was stated by the Director of the Federal Bureau of investigation (FBI), James Comey during a speech before Congress, his words are quoted by The Hill.
“I can promise you that we will gather the facts and see where they lead us”, he said.
In February, The New York Times published an article in which, with reference to sources in diplomatic circles it was argued that the members of the electoral headquarters of the trump was in contact with senior officials of Russian intelligence. This, according to the authors, evidenced by the phone records and intercepted calls.
According to sources, the talks were attended not only by officials of the headquarters of the trump, but other associates of Republican. From the Russian side the talks were also attended by representatives of countries not belonging to the security services. The names of the participants and their content was not specified.
The Democrats advocated the creation of a special Senate Committee to investigate these charges or for the appointment of spectracular to consider the circumstances of the case. The Republicans are blocking these initiatives, and Democrats have to work independently.
