POLYGON OPUK /Crimea/, March 20. /TASS/. Exercises with the participation of three compounds of the airborne troops of the Russian Federation and the black sea fleet (BSF) and Air and space forces began on Monday in the Crimea on the ground Opuk. This was reported to journalists airborne troops commander Colonel-General Andrey Serdyukov, responsible for General management maneuvers.
“The exercise involved soldiers of the Novorossiysk airborne assault division, Kamyshinsky and Ulan-Ude separate air assault brigades. In addition to our troops, in maneuvers will engage part of the forces and means of the black sea fleet and the 4th army air force and air defense of the southern military district”, – he said.
“For the first time in the history of the Russian army in the framework of the exercise of the airborne forces from three of our compounds were simultaneously alarmed and partially transferred to the Crimea with the standard weapons and equipment. Just maneuvers on the ground Opuk involved more than 2,5 thousand Marines and about 600 units of military equipment,” – said Serdyukov.
Anti-terrorist exercises
Andrey Serdyukov also reported that the airborne HQs and the black sea fleet in the framework of the exercises in the Crimea will work out actions against terrorists and regular troops of the enemy.
