The Prosecutor of Paris classified the attack on the military in Orly as a terrorist attack
PARIS, 18 Mar — RIA Novosti. Target selection and information about the man who attacked a military patrol in Orly airport allows you to investigate the incident as a terrorist attack, said at a press conference, Paris Prosecutor Francois Molins.
“Two elements are the rationale for the investigation of the anti-terrorist Prosecutor’s office. First, the choice of targets: the attack on soldiers providing security in the framework of operation Sentinelle, in line with the recommendations of the organizations of the jihadists. Second, the signs of radicalization of the perpetrator in the course of his stay in prison, and that he, according to the soldiers, shouted that acts in the name of Allah and that there are victims,” — said the Prosecutor.
Saturday morning in the North of Paris, police have stopped for check of documents the car, the driver opened fire from a pneumatic gun, injuring one of the police officers, then fled. Later the gunman stole another car at Orly airport attacked to ensure the safety of soldiers, tried to take the gun and was killed on the spot.
The investigation established the identity of the attacker: this is a 39-year-old Ziad Ben Belgacem known to police and intelligence services. The investigation of the two incidents is mandated anti-terrorist Prosecutor’s office.
