USA will allocate Ukraine $54 million for implementing reforms
USA will allocate Ukraine $54 million for technical assistance to implement reforms. The agreement was signed on 14 March in Kiev, reports “Interfax”.
As the Minister of economic development and trade of Ukraine Stepan Kubiv, the money will go to assistance in the energy sector, rule of law and ensuring accountability of government institutions to the citizens. He also added that the total amount of anticipated technical assistance needs to reach $123 million.
According to Kubiv, since 1992, Ukraine has received from the United States an estimated $4.3 billion
The house of representatives of the U.S. Congress on March 10 approved the allocation of $150 million in military assistance to Ukraine.
The document was supported by 371 the representative of the United States Congress and opposed by 48 people. As reported by MP Iryna Friz, the funds will be “available” to the Pentagon to give Ukraine a “military support”.
In particular, we are talking about lethal weapons for defense of areas and equipment, logistics support, intelligence support of the Ukrainian army and national security forces, as well as the training of personnel of the Ukrainian armed forces.
