The state Duma adopted in the third reading a law banning foreign or international non-profit organizations (NPOs) that are deemed undesirable on the territory of Russia, to create in the country a legal entity. It is reported TASS on Wednesday, March 15.
According to the amendments made to the legislation, such NGOs are forbidden not only to create a Russian legal entity, but also to participate in them. The explanatory Memorandum notes that organizations whose activities are recognized as unwanted, deprived of the right to protect their units. At the same time, an outright ban on the establishment of legal entities have not been set. “The adopted law adjusts this gap,” explained the developers of the standards in plenary.
The list of undesirable organisations was promulgated by the Federation Council in the summer of 2015. The stop list consisted of 12 foreign non-governmental organizations, including the “open society Institute” (Soros Foundation), national endowment for democracy, the Ukrainian world Congress, Ukrainian world coordinating Council and the Crimean field mission on human rights.
The law on undesirable foreign and international organizations signed in may 2015. He resolves to acknowledge the activities of relevant NGOs, threatening the foundations of the constitutional system of Russia, its defense capability or security, unwanted in the country.
