The Ministry of foreign Affairs of Russia recommends to the Russian citizens to refrain from trips to Libya. This statement was made by the official representative of the Ministry Maria Zakharova. Her words TASS reports.
“I would like to reiterate our continued strong recommendations to Russian operators who carry out international air, sea and road transportation, as well as the citizens of Russia within the Russian and foreign crews of aircraft and ships, to refrain from visiting Libya,” – said Zakharov.
The statement is connected with the arrest on March 5, in the territorial waters of the North African country, the Russian cargo ship “Merle”. Ship’s company “MT Group” was convoyed to the port of Tripoli. The crew consists of seven people, all of them citizens of Russia.
At the moment diplomats find out the reasons for the detention of the vessel. Zakharov said that every effort will be made to settle the crisis.
