STOCKHOLM, 10 Mar — news, Lyudmila Bozhko. The Russian Embassy in Sweden confirmed that in Stockholm arrested a Russian citizen working at the Swedish branch of the canadian engineering company Bombardier.
“The Embassy from the police Department Sweden, received notification on detention of the citizen of the Russian Federation Pavlov Evgeny Vladimirovich, born in 1979, “on suspicion of committing a crime” and place it in the Central prison of Stockholm,” — said in written comments to the Embassy.
The Embassy also reported that the Russian charges are not yet filed, the issue of the meeting with the Russian Consul detained “to clarify all circumstances of the case to protect his rights and legitimate interests”.
About the arrest in Stockholm of a Russian citizen working in Bombardier, said on Friday the Prosecutor’s office of Sweden. The office believes that several employees of Bombardier, including the detained Russians, “was in agreement” with representatives of railway departments of Azerbaijan, practiced various forms of compensation that, according to investigators, led to the fact that the company won in 2013, one of the contracts in Azerbaijan.
As reported by Swedish Radio SR, there is evidence that cooperation of Azerbaijani authorities with representatives of the Swedish company Bombardier Transportation has led to the “disappearance” of hundreds of millions SEK.
In 2013 Bombardier Transportation has won a contract for 3 billion euros (about 300 million euros at current exchange rates) for the supply of signaling system for Railways in Azerbaijan. However, according to the Swedish prosecution authority, a portion of the ordered contract products were sold in London which had only a mailbox. After that the same products bought Bombardier, paying a higher price. The Prosecutor is the sum of 700 million CZK.
“We see this as a false billing invoices to reclaim black money,” said radio investigating the case Prosecutor Thomas Forsberg.
The Bombardier representative Barbara Grimm confirmed to Swedish radio that the police interrogated one of the employees of the company, and stressed that Bombardier will cooperate with the investigation. Further review she did not give.
